My job is so wonderful, I never get tired of documenting peoples lives and last Thursday was no exception. I was excited to jump out of bed that morning, knowing in a little while I was going to be in the O.R. documenting a new life coming into the world. Everything went as clockwork and little Matthew (well not so little) 8LBS and 7OZ, arrived happy and healthy right on time. This just has to be my favorite part of my job, documenting births! And so the day moves on and Dad brings to the hospital “Big Sister” Riley to meet her new little baby brother. I stood quietly in the corner photographing her expressions and listening carefully to what she was thinking. I took note at some of her thoughts so I could remember some of the things she said that morning. As they were discussing names, and Dad mentioned what about “Tucker” she said “Oh Dad no, no, no that wouldn’t work”. She also mentioned that she thought the name “Flower” was a nice name and that if Mom had a girl she wanted to name her “Tinkerbell”. Big sister Riley was pretty obsessed with little Matthews belly button, she just wanted to figure out how his food got in there! Anyway, out of the mouths of babes, I was so happy to have had the opportunity to have been there!
What a blessed day!
