Plates Cafe and Catering

St Johns Shelter for Women and Children is embarking on a new business venture! They will be opening a new cafe and catering business which is located in {Depot Park} the old Army Depot. This is the largest office park in Sacramento with nearly 2500 employees in the immediate area. The cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday and is open to the public. St Johns is feeling very fortunate to have on board the former Sous Chef from “The Firehouse” as their chef and David Lose as their business manager formerly of “Masons”. In addition they will have their very own sister Sous Chef Lathomas {formerly a St Johns Mother} who went from crisis to self sufficient after her stay at St Johns. Lathomas attended and graduated from The Culinary Institute of San Francisco.

A big thank you to Mulvaney’s and Paragary’s for helping with the training of all who will be working at the Cafe.

I had the pleasure of going by the Cafe location during a recent meeting and took some photographs before the renovation had started. If you wish to help with this business venture by volunteering some time, this weekend there will be a 3 day EXTREME MAKEOVER, starting June 4th.

Please frequent the Restaurant as you will not only be feeding your self, but you will be helping feed many women and children in crisis.

If you would like to help email volunteer@stjohnsshelter.org.
