Hello 2012 {Sacramento Children Photographer}

Hello, from Bisharat Photography, we are missing blogging so I thought I would just jump right in now and say happy 2012, let’s get this party started. Recently, we have had some blog spamming and are trying really hard to keep those spammers at bay. Not to sure how/why this happens, although I’m pretty sure it is a full time job for some to be sure they get their advertisements up where they don’t belong.

We are very happy to say we had a lovely holiday season with lots of nice weather to be photographing right up to December. Wish every year we could have that sort of weather although I know we need rain badly. For some reason we love the holiday “madness”, it really gets our creative juices flowing. Phew……now we are ready to get crackin for 2012 and we have some awesome ideas for some really great sessions that we are ready to share and we are ready to get busy.

We recently had our staff “specials and marketing” meeting for 2012 and the anticipation and excitement for our upcoming year grew even more! By popular demand we will be scheduling our portrait party sessions at Koukla Kids featuring our adorable “Lemonade Stand” sessions as well as our “Bunny Day” sessions. This week we are doing our Valentine Day/ or Winter Day portrait parties. We also have some wonderful senior reps that are going to be helping us get the word out that it is now time to book those “Senior Portrait” sessions. We are also offering seniors the chance at mini sessions this year, which our male seniors typically like since a lot of times they don’t really want to be doing photographs to begin with.

9-29-92 Lucky Day – Favorite Photo Friday

Our week was an interesting one to say the least. We had some computer space problems, some word press problems and our slideshow upload link had an error message and we could not load slideshows. I had the idea that perhaps this all occurred because of one issue, although it was multiple issues. It appears it had to do with software updates and the problems were not related…all up and running now, glad the glitches of the week are resolved and we are looking forward to a wonderful weekend.

It was unanimous in the office today that we would feature Mackenzie Brooke Bisharat or (Kenzie, Ninee or Mac as she is also known) as our Favorite Photo Friday. She celebrated her 19th birthday yesterday. 9-29-92 was a lucky day here at the Bisharat home. I remember a labor nurse at Sutter telling me I should play the lottery that day. After 2 days of labor, 3 trips to the doctor (because I just knew I was dilated to 10 HA!) and 2 trips to the hospital (because by this time there was no doubt I was dilated to 10 HA!), Ninee finally made her grand entrance into the world. The smallest of our 4 children, she weighed 8 Pounds, 6 Ounces. She was delivered by my best friend’s father (Dr. Eichhorn) and lucky enough my best friend Rebecca was in town to be able to hold my hand and be present for the birth of my second daughter.

We are so proud of Mackenzie she has grown into an amazing women! She has a heart of gold and is so loving, caring and giving it is of no surprise to us that she is working hard to become a nurse. She will be an awesome one.

Favorite Photo Friday {Sacramento Area Child Photographer}

Welcome to the First Friday in September!

Of course we love Fridays for many reasons, one being we get to take a look at what we have accomplished this week taking photographs and pick out our favorites. This week started with an adorable Annie and Isabel session at one of my favorite hospitals Kaiser Roseville. I love the beautiful window light that Kaiser has in their rooms. Sessions this week also included two newborns at the studio, a 4 month old, 6 month old, 2 year old, a few outdoor family and children sessions as well as our shoot for St. John’s Shelter for Women and Children fundraising project that is in the works. This was certainly a busy week at home and at work. We are trying to adjust to the difficult schedules of school, work and sports, seems like we don’t eat dinner before 9:00 these days….

I had the most fun this week photographing little George, documenting his year 5. He is very special to me in many ways but mostly because he is the son of one of the owners of Annie and Isabel Designer Hospital Gowns, Selena. Even though Selena’s family lived in the Bay area for many years, I have had the pleasure of photographing her and the rest of her family for quite a long time now. George is full of personality and he just L-O-V-E-S trains. I found it most fitting to do his 5 year session near some railroad tracks and he could not have been more thrilled with that. Happy Birthday George you are growing up so fast!

Tough Little Guy {Favorite Photo Friday}

We had another busy week here at Bisharat Photography and I too had a busy week at home. I’m so proud of my daughter Karson, after finding out last week that she made the volleyball team she went at if full force this week and worked her tail off at practice. School started for her too. Beau, my son decided it wasn’t enough to play tackle football, he is now playing flag ball as well, so that means two practices daily and now two games a week. Whew! What a blessing it is that my daughter Mackenzie has not started back to college yet and is so willing to be a taxi for me. I also had the pleasure of taking care of my two grandsons so that my daughter Aja and her husband could go out of town for two nights, their first get away after babies and…well, she only lasted one night. I can understand why, who would want to be away from these two for very long?

Work was especially rewarding this week, I started out Monday doing a session for a special family that I have photographed for years and I always enjoy the two of them and their very delightful little boy. He picked tomatoes for me while I photographed him. I can’t imagine a more delightful Monday morning. In addition to his session Monday, I was happy to update family portraits for the gals at Koukla Kids. We did a new promo photograph for the two of them as well as photographs of the whole family. It’s always great to see Kathryn and Toria as well as the rest of the family, unfortunately I had to take a rain check on the yummy dinner invitation. Also included this week we photographed newborns, seniors and several toddlers. Lot’s of sessions and this is what I L-O-V-E!

My favorite photo this week has a little well a rather big story. I first photographed Hunter when he was just 3 months old and I’ve had the fortune of photographing him periodically throughout the last year and a half, even though his family lives in Monterrey. When I titled this post “Tough Little Guy” that is actually an understatement. I am really amazed at what some people go through and how they can continue to smile and feel blessed and happy. This is one of those families.

This is a brief (a very brief) description of little Hunter’s life thus far, in his Mom’s words.

“Hunter was born with heart disease and has had 6 open heart surgeries to date. He had a bit of a rough start his first year and had a heart attack on the operating table at 4 months old. We spent the next few months on life support at LPCH recovering. He has always had such a happy demeanor and he’s so active. We often think (and hear from others) if you didn’t know he had heart disease, you wouldn’t know anything was wrong at all. We’re truly blessed to have such a tough little guy on our hands! There is always plenty of laughter in our house with Hunter’s antics. He’s such a sweet little boy”.

Down to the Wire {Sacramento Area Children’s Photographer}

It is now 11:45 PM and I am down to the wire to make this weeks Favorite Photo Friday’s post actually be on Friday. What a great week I had this week the weather was so nice and I had so many wonderful sessions.

Here are some of the past weeks happenings: a beautiful wedding last Friday evening, a wonderful concert at the Ironstone Winery (Steve Miller Band), 10 or 12 sessions including a family who is near and dear to me and are moving away to Idaho and wanted one last photograph by the Folsom Bridge to remember their home, a photo session of my little niece and sister in law today in celebration her first birthday and lastly an amazing going away to college party tonight which is why I’m posting so late.

I can hardly believe that it has been a year since my little niece Brynn was born. I just love her personality and I really love her name….hee hee! When I was young my nickname was “Bryn” so I have to say that I was more than ecstatic when I heard my brother and sister in law were going to name their baby “Brynn”

My favorite photo this week is of “Little Miss Brynn”. Happy Birthday Brynnie….we love you so much!

Koukla Kids I-Design Special {Sacramento Area Child Photographer}

We are adding a new twist on our traditional Portrait Party theme coming up August 9^th and 10^th at Koukla Kids, Sacramento’s #1 Children’s clothing store. Instead of offering our regular mini sessions, this month, we are offering something a bit different. These sessions we will concentrate on photographing your child taking mostly close ups and showing every bit of their cute little expressions and personality. As usual, we will post your images on line for you to view and share, however this session you will have the fortune of helping with the design of your own 8×8 stand alone collage board. And it is as easy as 1,2,3!

At your design consultation, we will help you choose your layout, choose your colors and choose your icons. Of course we will also help you choose your photographs.

With your $80.00 prepaid session you will receive a 15 minute photo session, your online gallery to view and share, your design consultation as well as your 8×8 collage board.

You are also welcome to upgrade to a larger board or purchase your photographs individually if you wish.

When choosing your colors remember the many different places you’re unique heirloom piece can be displayed and you can match your room’s décor. What a complimentary piece of art this will be.

Sessions are per child. Your session and 8×8 pieces would then be $80.00 per child, per 15 minute session. You are welcome to request other photographs to be taken during your session time as well as your close ups.

Stay@Home Dad’s {Sacramento Children Photographer}

As I was photographing “little Dane” the other day, I thought to myself what a lucky little boy he is. Not only does Dane have three older brothers, but he has a stay @home Dad that takes care of him. I’m not sure what the proper term is for Dad’s that stay home, maybe “househusbands”? Whatever the term may be, Brian, their “Dad,” is one amazing parent.

Not only is Brian staying home with Dane the youngest of their four boys, he has also stayed home with Dane’s older brothers, Marshall (5) and the twins Reed and Corbin (2). That’s right Brian is the househusband for 4 boys under 5. This is a WOW to me every time I see him with those little guys in tow. The other day I asked Brian if he would be going back to construction after Dane was in school, his answer to that was “I plan on retiring after Dane is in school” HA! So deserving of that! Here are a few additional things about Brian that amaze me: 1)he has brought all 4 kids in for photographs every month (always on time, never missed or messed up an appt date) 2)he does not use disposable diapers (how does he always stay prepared with cloth diapers?) 3)the boys are all very well behaved (not sure how he manages this, but they are never a nuisance, loud or disruptive) 4)the boys are always looking dapper (I think Mom Amy has a lot to do with this…sorry Bri)

Father’s Day is a perfect time to honor Dad’s and all they do for our families….

Quiet.Busy.Blog -Sacramento Portrait Photography-

HELLO…We realize our blog has been very quiet lately which typically means very busy for us. We love reaching out and staying in touch, however, recently we had a big surge of wonderful sessions! After several family graduations it is a bit calmer now and I’m hoping I don’t have blog block as I sit down to write this. Sometimes, I’m not sure which direction I’m going being blessed with, a wonderful husband, 4 kids, 2 grand-kids and a busy business. I have been wondering lately, am I ever going to get a minute to sit down and catch up on the blog? As I start in, I realize there is so much to say, I just needed a quiet moment to remember.

We are so happy to announce we placed in the Top 5 photographers on the KCRA-AList this year! Thank you so much all who took the time to place your vote for us. It can be a bit of a challenge to get on the website there, create an account to finally place your vote. This means we have won 3 first place and 2 third place positions over the last 5 years, we are very proud and honored!

Wonderful news about KidAround Magazine.

There is a new publisher whom I adore, her name is Kara Turner and she is already doing some amazing things with the magazine. Kara is an experienced business women who will take this Local Culture Magazine for Modern Families to the top! We are happy to be able to have some photography assignments in the magazine and we are very excited about the expanding distribution. Thanks Kara for allowing us to be a part of your new venture, we are so happy to be on board and look forward to helping you as much as we can.

A couple of days ago, we had the pleasure of photographing a very fun group of children, who obviously love the camera! Gracie Mae Kids, an adorable line of clothing just for kids already has their spring wear out and are ready for the beautiful weather that is coming soon. I love spring, with all of the beautiful colors, smells and fresh air.
