9-29-92 Lucky Day – Favorite Photo Friday

Our week was an interesting one to say the least. We had some computer space problems, some word press problems and our slideshow upload link had an error message and we could not load slideshows. I had the idea that perhaps this all occurred because of one issue, although it was multiple issues. It appears it had to do with software updates and the problems were not related…all up and running now, glad the glitches of the week are resolved and we are looking forward to a wonderful weekend.

It was unanimous in the office today that we would feature Mackenzie Brooke Bisharat or (Kenzie, Ninee or Mac as she is also known) as our Favorite Photo Friday. She celebrated her 19th birthday yesterday. 9-29-92 was a lucky day here at the Bisharat home. I remember a labor nurse at Sutter telling me I should play the lottery that day. After 2 days of labor, 3 trips to the doctor (because I just knew I was dilated to 10 HA!) and 2 trips to the hospital (because by this time there was no doubt I was dilated to 10 HA!), Ninee finally made her grand entrance into the world. The smallest of our 4 children, she weighed 8 Pounds, 6 Ounces. She was delivered by my best friend’s father (Dr. Eichhorn) and lucky enough my best friend Rebecca was in town to be able to hold my hand and be present for the birth of my second daughter.

We are so proud of Mackenzie she has grown into an amazing women! She has a heart of gold and is so loving, caring and giving it is of no surprise to us that she is working hard to become a nurse. She will be an awesome one.

Keep dreaming big and reaching for the stars Kenz, that’s who you are! Happy Birthday!

Favorite Photo Friday {Sacramento Area Child Photographer}

Welcome to the First Friday in September!

Of course we love Fridays for many reasons, one being we get to take a look at what we have accomplished this week taking photographs and pick out our favorites. This week started with an adorable Annie and Isabel session at one of my favorite hospitals Kaiser Roseville. I love the beautiful window light that Kaiser has in their rooms. Sessions this week also included two newborns at the studio, a 4 month old, 6 month old, 2 year old, a few outdoor family and children sessions as well as our shoot for St. John’s Shelter for Women and Children fundraising project that is in the works. This was certainly a busy week at home and at work. We are trying to adjust to the difficult schedules of school, work and sports, seems like we don’t eat dinner before 9:00 these days….

I had the most fun this week photographing little George, documenting his year 5. He is very special to me in many ways but mostly because he is the son of one of the owners of Annie and Isabel Designer Hospital Gowns, Selena. Even though Selena’s family lived in the Bay area for many years, I have had the pleasure of photographing her and the rest of her family for quite a long time now. George is full of personality and he just L-O-V-E-S trains. I found it most fitting to do his 5 year session near some railroad tracks and he could not have been more thrilled with that. Happy Birthday George you are growing up so fast!

Designer Hospital Gowns? {Sacramento Annie and Isabel Photographers}

It has been a while since we have done a blog post referring to our BFF’s Anna and Selena. Their company which launched a year and a half ago, Annie and Isabel is an amazing sister owned business manufacturing designer hospital gowns. We just adore these two gals and they have created a product that has become a must for pregnant Mom’s and other hospital patients who want to be comfortable, cozy and quiet frankly have their tushes covered up. Yes, their hospital gowns actually wrap all the way around the back side and don’t leave anything hanging out like the standard gowns you see in hospitals. Not to mention how fashionable they are. I have to say every time and I mean every time I go to do a photo session for Annie and Isabel the nurses and staff just cannot stop oooohhhhinng and aawwwinngggg over the beautiful gown the patient is wearing.

We are so appreciative and proud to be such a large part of the Annie and Isabel team. Quiet.Busy.Blog -Sacramento Portrait Photography-

HELLO…We realize our blog has been very quiet lately which typically means very busy for us. We love reaching out and staying in touch, however, recently we had a big surge of wonderful sessions! After several family graduations it is a bit calmer now and I’m hoping I don’t have blog block as I sit down to write this. Sometimes, I’m not sure which direction I’m going being blessed with, a wonderful husband, 4 kids, 2 grand-kids and a busy business. I have been wondering lately, am I ever going to get a minute to sit down and catch up on the blog? As I start in, I realize there is so much to say, I just needed a quiet moment to remember.

We are so happy to announce we placed in the Top 5 photographers on the KCRA-AList this year! Thank you so much all who took the time to place your vote for us. It can be a bit of a challenge to get on the website there, create an account to finally place your vote. This means we have won 3 first place and 2 third place positions over the last 5 years, we are very proud and honored!

Wonderful news about KidAround Magazine.

There is a new publisher whom I adore, her name is Kara Turner and she is already doing some amazing things with the magazine. Kara is an experienced business women who will take this Local Culture Magazine for Modern Families to the top! We are happy to be able to have some photography assignments in the magazine and we are very excited about the expanding distribution. Happy St. Patty’s Day {Kristene}

Hello and Happy St. Patty’s Day to all, (from Kristene).

I don’t usually make blog posts but since Brenda is out of commission I thought I would share my day with you.

It all started when I dropped Brenda off at the hospital for her to get her surgery done and photograph her in her lovely Annie and Isabel gown. She is wearing my personal favorite gown that Annie and Isabel offer, the Susan. We have a partnership with Annie and Isabel. With every gown purchased (in the Sacramento area) a gift from Bisharat Photography is given. After you have your baby you can call and have Brenda or I do a 15 minute mini session in your Annie and Isabel gown in the hospital with your new baby. I actually had the pleasure today to photograph one of these sessions.

After I left Brenda with a stack of celebrity trash magazines (you know you can’t resist them either) to keep her occupied before the surgery, I was on my way to Roseville to photograph baby Ayden and Christene in her Annie and Isabel gown. I was greeted by Christene, some family and of course 13 hour old Ayden. To my surprise Christene must share the same taste as Brenda and I do, she was in the Susan gown as well! Ayden was peacefully sleeping the entire time I was photographing. Christene delivered in the wonderful new Roseville Kaiser hospital. The rooms are spacious and have windows that give wonderful natural light (perfect for our mini session).

Earlier in the day Brenda saw a twitter update that Annie and Isabel (the Murphy Girls) had posted. As she was reading the update, our mouths started watering over the corned beef recipe Selena was going to make. I couldn’t resist emailing Annie and Isabelle for the recipe. The Murphy Girls were so kind to offer to go to whole foods, get the ingredients and drop them off at Brenda’s. A short period of time later Selena let me know the goodies are on the porch. I opened the door to a beautiful bag full of goodies, a get well card and flowers for Brenda and her family! I thought “How sweet is that?!” As I was taking everything out of the bag, I couldn’t resist taking a picture to text to Brenda at the hospital. It then was time to get cracking in the kitchen. I have never made corned beef and cabbage before, but this recipe was a cinch! My biggest challenge was trying to find my way around in Brenda’s kitchen. After getting the corned beef in the crock pot it was time to pick up Brenda’s son from school. Upon from returning from that, I got the call that Brenda was ready to be picked up. I now can see why she drives a minivan. J

All in a day’s work this St. Patty’s Day 2011!

Samantha Grace {Sacramento Birth Photography}

I’d like to start this post by mentioning that the mother of little Samantha Grace is like a daughter to me and I was honored to be present at her birth and be able to document her precious miracle being born. Thank you Jessica and your adorable family for including me in your birth plan. Secondly, I have to say that I have photographed more births than I have been able to keep count of over the years and I was so excited when Jessica mentioned her OB was Dr. Knight. I have been in attendance and documented several births with the remarkable Dr. Knight, who has such compassion and care for his patients. I am very familiar with his amazing birthing procedures and I am always more than delighted when I get to be present at one of his births. Dr. Knight has a passion for photography as do I, and he occurs very sympathetic to the idea that someone would actually want to have wonderful photographs of their blessed and life changing experience to look back on. I feel as though he has a complete understanding of why the family has made the choice to have a professional photographer there to document the monumental experience and he honors the importance of what it will mean to the family for years to come. All of the births that I have photographed with Dr. Knight he makes a special effort to be sure that the mother, father and family enjoy the experience and are fully involved. Please check out the video below and you will see what I mean. Jessica actually has the joy of helping deliver her own baby, and Dad has the honor of cutting little Samantha Grace’s umbilical cord.

The experience that Dr. Knight gives these families is priceless!

Julissa~Good Day Sacramento {Sacramento Birth Photography}

Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful Julissa Ortiz of Good Day Sacramento in our studio while pregnant with her first child. She and her husband Steve came in and as we were discussing clothing options for her maternity session, I realized we had in common the love of animal print. As you can see from the photograph here of our studio our welcome mat happens to be a zebra rug. {btw: it died from natural causes}

Our maternity session was so much fun, especially because Julissa has the best sense of humor ever! Steve decided that he had been sympathy pregnant along with his wife, so we had to be sure to capture a “who looks more pregnant” photo. It was so nice of a viewer to send to the anticipated “Large” baby some hand knitted booties, which of course were animal print! At the time of the maternity session, no one knew what Julissa and Steve were going to name their little girl, so I felt pretty special to be able to have been in on their little name secret until the baby was born. Considering Natalia took her time getting here, I had to keep that secret a little longer than I expected. Whew….

Julissa who is spunky, playful and full of life was so much fun to photograph that day!

While in the hospital, it only made sense that Julissa be wearing a stylish Annie and Isabel Designer Hospital Gown. The most fitting gown for this beautiful Mom to be, was of course the zebra print Susan gown! {My personal favorite I might add} The Susan gown, is my favorite, not only because of it’s beautiful print, it is also my favorite because of it’s story. The gown is named after Anna and Selena’s mother Susan who is an amazing woman! Family is of the up most importance to her and I am so blessed to know her and be able to have wonderful conversations with her about family, traditions and life. Look how wonderful Julissa looks in these hospital photographs with Steve and her new baby Natalia. The Susan is just beautiful on you Julissa, and it is hard to believe you just had a baby, you are stunning!

So, the “Large” family grew a little bit and Julissa continued to laugh her adorable laugh and smile that beautiful smile….even though she had very little sleep, when Steve and Julissa brought Natalia in for some newborn photographs. Of course Natalia not lacking animal print clothing, blankets or booties sported an adorable animal print beanie for some of her pictures. Not only do I love your since of humor and your adorable laugh Julissa, I’m so happy to know someone else who has an animal print obsession! :0)

{Sacramento Birth Photographer} Hunter James Michael

As I mentioned in my last post, I was anticipating the birth of my second grandson with so much excitement. Sunday morning January 9th, my daughter was admitted to Kaiser Roseville and her induction began. I had Thomas (my first grandson, now 17 months) overnight at my house so they could get up and get going early. I was wide awake awaiting her call….I love births and I love babies! This day was extra special for obvious reasons! Aja was such a trooper and looked and felt so comfy in her Annie and Isabel Hospital Gown compliments of Anna and Selena! Thank you both so much! She walked laps around the halls in her Anita Gown and her ugg boots, and got numerous compliments on how beautiful her gown was from absolutely everyone, including the nurses (all three shifts of them), the Drs and visitors. These two nurses are truly on to an amazing product and if you have not seen or heard of their beautiful designer gowns, you must check them out! After a very long day of sitting, eating and reading junk magazines, little Hunter James arrived at 12:40A.M. January 10th. His older brother Thomas weighed 9 LBS 14 OZ at birth so there was a little concern that her second son might also be very large. My daughter Aja was happy when the delivery was very quick (labor not so much) and Hunter weighed a mere 8 LBS 10 OZ. The Dr. was so impressed with the idea that she thought this baby was “small”. The slideshow below reflects the delivery, the coming home and the settling in of Hunter James. His brother Thomas Edward is very fond of Hunter and becomes a little distraught when Hunter cries, it is amazing how he already tries to care for him. Life is beautiful and the bonding of these two brothers is already occurring in such a loving way. We are so proud of our daughter, son in law and what wonderful parents they are and what a beautiful little family they have made together. We are very thankful and feel very blessed!

Sacramento Birth Photography {anticipation}

As I put my grandson to bed tonight and reflect on the anticipation of tomorrows events, my daughter giving birth to her second son (our second grandson) I can hardly help myself from becoming completely over come with joyful emotion. Life continues to be such a miracle! Although it is late, I wanted to post some of the photographs from my first grandson’s birth. It seems like just yesterday, he was born August 11, 2009. Our second Grandson due 1-11-11…(love the due date)! If you look at the photos below you will notice our little Thomas weighed in at 9LBs 14OZ and at our daughters last Dr appointment she mentioned to her Dr. that she was very uncomfortable. In checking the stats from her first birth and realizing the size of her baby her Dr. agreed it best to induce a couple of days early. So…tomorrow might just be the day!

You might notice that my daughter is sporting one of the first Annie and Isabel Gowns made. Can’t wait to see which Annie and Isabel gown she will be wearing tomorrow!

I know tomorrows events will be different, full of joy, emotion and amazing memories. My little Thomas’s life will be changed forever and he will have to learn to share his Mom, Dad….and all others who love and adore him so much. My wish is that he will also learn that siblings and family are one of the most precious things about life. With much anticipation I will try to get some rest and will post on tomorrows events as soon as I am able. I am so grateful for family, my life and the gift I have to be able to document all the things that come about while here!

“ANTICIPATION”

Meeting New Little Sister {Sacramento Newborn Photographer}

I had a brief visit to the hospital the other day to document a new big sister meeting her new little sister for the first time. It occurred to me that this was a little miracle happening in her life right then, as I prepared to take the pictures. The expression, excitement and wonder in big sister when Mom (who sported her Designer Hospital Gown) asked if she wanted to hold her little sister, was simply breathtaking. I got the distinct feeling that this was just about the best thing that had ever happened to her, meeting her new little sister, her mini me. Once in her lap she just didn’t know what to think, she appeared to be full of fear, disbelief, pride and a whole lot of love! I think she was ready to bring Mom and sister home and make “the I’m the big sister” thing final right then and there. I’m very curious to hear how much fun they are all having now that they are home.

On this exciting day, Mom looked as beautiful as ever! She had been given a gift by a friend, one of the lovely Annie and Isabel Designer Hospital Gowns and she looked just gorgeous in it. She was wearing The Anita which is one of my personal favorites in their line of gowns. I have had several opportunities to photograph new Moms and I have to say, when a new Mom is in an Annie and Isabel Gown, it is obvious to me how much more beautiful they truly look and feel. It is very special to be able to document this time in these families lives when their new little miracles arrive and the designer gowns sure help make lovely photographs.

Dad appeared as proud as ever as he held his two little girls in his arms. My heart truly melted over seeing this big strong man with his two little angels and the idea of what the future may hold for all of them was on my mind. It made me think about my own girls (all three of them) and how much they have all grown into such beautiful women so quickly.

These moments are to cherish, that’s for sure……… it won’t be long and these little sisters will be having little miracles of their own….
